Advocacy 101
Take Time to STAND UP for Choice!
Showing your support for Planned Parenthood can easily fit into your schedule. Here are some ideas of how you can be an advocate-whether you have 5 minutes or 5 hours!
5 Minute Activist: 5 minutes a month can go a long way!
- Sign up for the Planned Parenthood Action Network. While you are at it ask your friends and family to sign up, too!
- Contact your state and national legislators and remind them that their constituents (that's you!) are pro-choice. Thank those who support family planning and ask others to explain their position.
- Register to vote and invite 10 friends who are not registered to join you! Talk to your friends about choice and why it is important. Make sure to VOTE in all elections.
5 Hour Activist: Dedicate time all at once or throughout the month.
- Send a letter to the Editor of you local or statewide newspaper voicing your thoughts on reproductive freedom.
- Host a house party with your friends and family to support Planned Parenthood. We'll supply all the materials and it is easier than you think!
- Watch your legislators in action online or by taking a trip to Trenton. Visit when legislative committees are debating issues important to you. Ask Planned Parenthood for pins and stickers to show your support!
5 Day Activist: Road Trip!
- Take a trip to Washington D.C. to visit your national legislators and see them in action!
5 Week Activist
- Get involved in a longer term project at PPANJ such as helping to organize an event to raise support and awareness of our issues.
5 Months and Beyond Activist
